Oh my gosh it’s been such a very long time since I’ve posted any news up! And this is not because there has been no news. It’s one of those ironic catch-22 situations, whereby the more news there is, the less time there is to write about it! And I must admit, as much as I love our little chats here, like Tony Harrison, they quickly fall victim to the crunch.
So what have we been doing since February? Well, we had a stall and a fashion show at the Skin Two North Spring Ball in March. That was a great night, although I think due to the large amount of work in our build-up to it, both myself and Jo were a little too tired to appreciate the evening, and sneaked off around midnight. It was a fantastic event with the theme of “Alice in Fetishland”, and everyone seemed to be having a ball. (Pardon the pun.) Our fashion show during the evening went really well. The girls who Skin Two North had arranged to model for us on the catwalk were all great! Brilliant fun to work with and their short performance went off without a hitch. And the gorgeous Anna Fur Laxis was gorgeous, predictably. Here’s our show if you missed the event:
A scant few weeks after Skin Two North, the dust had barely settled and we were off again down to London for a fashion show at April’s Festival of Sins. We decided to keep the sinister medical theme of our show, but being at The Festival of Sins, tweaked it to replace the “Alice” element with a tongue in cheek religious theme. Nuns! :D Beyond that, we left the performance in the very capable hands of Mimi Demure and Miss Cissy P whom we had taken down with us as choreographers, and who did a fantastic job! The Festival of Sins models were gorgeous and irrepressibly enthusiastic. Just take a look at this video of the show, they were all brilliant!
Loads of shots were taken of our models at the event, plenty of which can be found in the gallery on our Facebook page here. And you may notice guest appearing in some of the photo's is Patricia Quinn, most famous for her performance as Magenta in The Rocky Horror Picture Show! How cool is that?
A week or so after our Festival on Sins appearance was the Whitby Gothic Festival, where Jo manned our regular stall in the Leisure Centre. Hmmm, manned may not be an appropriate adjective - glamorously loitered around is probably more accurate. The festival was fantastic fun and Jo had a great time meeting loads of you while working on the stall. Our stall was slightly different from usual, as we had a special sale section containing all of the garments from the recent fashion shows at drastically reduced prices! Post-fashion show/photoshoot sales are the best - perfect garments at half price because they've been worn for an hour? Lunacy!
At the start of June we were covered in an article in the Fetishista’s online magazine, which can be read here.
One of our most exciting pieces of news came later on in June, when we were contacted by a lovely lady from The Clothes Show, and asked to contribute a selection of our items to this year’s London Clothes Show for their catwalk fashion performance! We have been very excited about this, I think myself in particular as I was brought up watching The Clothes Show in the *cough* 80’s *cough*. Their 45 minute fashion performance was divided into eight scenes, each representing the style of a fashion capitol. We were included in the scene themed on Paris – Le Moulin Rouge, which was based on the darker, racey side of Paris style fashions. Our items which were used in the scene were sock suspenders and sleeve holders, cravats, and the main male performer for the scene wore one of Jo’s new Jabot’s, which we are about to start listing in the shop. And on the girls was one of our rose collars, and one of our new neo-vintage lace and latex fusion collars which will be appearing in the shop at some point in the near future. The outfits for the scene can be seen on The Clothes Show website here.
There are also video’s of the performance dotted around various fashion sites on the internet. I’ve seen a rather shaky one which looks like it was taken on a mobile phone so it’s probably a good thing that I can’t currently find that one. When The Clothes Show publishes their official footage, I will link to that. Presumably, as they are on one of the digital TV channels, we will also be on the telly at various times! It’s peculiar enough to be out at a nightclub and see someone wearing something we’ve made, but if I start bumping into our stuff while flipping TV channels, that will enter a whole new world of weird.
Right I think that about sums up what we’ve been doing. That just leaves me to talk about what we’re currently up to and what is looming on the horizon.
Our impending events are Tattoo Jam from the 6th to the 8th August, where Jo will be with our stall. Then at the end of August we will be with the stall at Infest! It was very strange not being at Infest last year, as the building the event is usually held in was demolished, although I don’t think that was in any way related to the event itself. This year will be the same great event, in a brand new venue! Although I don’t need to sell the event to you as I believe it’s already sold out! If you do want tickets but missed them on sale, I recommend the Infestcommunities on Livejournal, as there are always the odd few up for re-sale on there closer to the event.
Aside from stalls, our main priority in the near and rolling future is a complete re-working of the garment section on our website. As most of you probably already know, our ever widening range of Lickorishlatex garments are only nominally represented on our website. A ludicrous state of affairs, which we are determined to put right as soon as possible. This will involve many regular photoshoots over the next year or so, and a gradual filling out of the garment section, as and when we get images to replace those cringe worthy snaps currently lurking around in there. A fabulous side effect of this will be that we will be having regular post-photoshoot sales! So keep an eye on the Lickorishlatex Facebook page for regular sales of beautiful bargains!
Phew! That’ll teach me to leave writing up the news for so long. If any of you have made it this far, you have earned yourself a biscuit* and an Ahhhhh!
Until next time - have a good remainder of the summer, and we'll hopefully see some of you at Tattoo Jam and Infest. x

Stall, stalls, and more stalls.
Hi there!
I have no idea how I’m finding the time to write this, but here I am. *wave* Tapping away without a care in the world.
Jo had a great time at our stall at Tattoo Freeze last month. Met loads of you lovely people, and even came away with yet more ink! In fact, she enjoyed it so much we’ve booked the stall in for Tattoo Jam (6th – 8th August).
Anyway, I’ve just popped by to let you know that in addition to our stall at the Festival of Sins this Saturday night (13th Feb), we will also be having a stall at the London Fetish Fair on Sunday (14th Feb). So come along and say hello!
I'll try and write some more when I have more time, but until then we'll see some of you in London over the weekend!
Date: January 2010
Happy New Year!
Oh wow! What a great holiday that was! I hope your festive break was as fun and recharging as ours have been.
I feel slightly guilty because I’ve not had the urge to leap back to work a couple of days early and make a dent in the work-mountain that’s accumulated while we’ve been off enjoying ourselves. But I’ve been far too busy enjoying myself! :D
So, thanks for your continued stream of orders through Christmas! We’ve put a hold on all other work and are striving to get your orders made and in the post as soon as possible. I’m even writing this news blog on Sunday night so that updating the website doesn’t nibble into my making-stuffs time tomorrow!
I recon if we ban fag breaks, toilet breaks, and hot buttered crumpet breaks, we can increase our productivity by a ratio of 0.15!!! Yeah, ok. Scarlet wasn’t particularly impressed with that either. But I’m afraid facebook and myspace status update breaks are sacred.
We have so much stuff coming up this year its exciting and daunting at the same time. Its excitodaunting! Quick, is it too late to submit an entry for the 2010 Oxford English Dictionary?
Anyway, what do we have in the first few months? We have Tattoo Freeze mid January, a massive tattoo convention organised by Skin Deep magazine and various other people, which Scarlet will be at with the stall. Then in February we will be in London, for the Valentines Festival of Sins in the Purple Turtle, Camden. Then in March we have a fashion show at the Skin2 North Spring ball as well as a stall in the events marketplace. Then in April we have a fashion show at Festival of Sins in London, followed by our usual stall at the April Whitby Gothic Weekend.
We have various other things planned for the rest of the year, but we’ll be adding things as we go along so we’ll go into those when it gets a little closer to the time.
We also have many new garments we need to find time to get photographed and into the shop, so keep an eye on that area of the website, as although its looking rather bare at the moment it will be blossoming this year.
As ever, we love to hear from you, so if you have any questions or requests drop us an Email!
